Mosaic del Sur ® factory, 1 acre, 150 employees, 6000 cement tiles/day

The MOSAIC DEL SUR ® cement tile company was established in 2002 in Andalusia, based on the tools and models dated from 1930’s to 1950’s.

Today in 2013 our production is industrial. The factories in Tangiers occupy the area of 4500 square meters and employ 230 workers of which 75 are artisans (in charge of filling the moulds with liquid pigmented cement, controlling the pressing and removing the finished tiles from the moulds), 20 packing inspectors and numerous assistants who help prepare the cement mixtures, manipulate granito and cement tiles and assure their correct drying.

In addition to the traditional cement tile we have developed the patterned granito tile (adding small marble chips), which is superior to the classic cement tile in terms of resistance to abrasion and impact. When the granito tile is worn out or deteriorated it can be polished like the marble regaining its natural beauty.

For wall use in bathrooms, kitchens, swimming pools or simply as a decorative element, MOSAIC DEL SUR ® produces traditional handmade glazed tiles called Zellige.

Zellige is made of white clay from Fez (Morocco). It comes in warm tones, with pearlescent and irregular finish. It is available in 48 colours and many shapes, sizes and patterns.

Mosaic de Sur ® has combined modern industrial production process and control standards with traditional know-how to offer reliable products to private customers, as well as to big projects, providing quality guarantee and respecting the lead times and delivery.The cement, granito and Zellige tile orders are carefully checked and controlled. They are shipped in quality cartboard boxes, the foam

separator isplaced between the tiles. The pallets are robust, protected by wooden corners, sealed with protective film and tape. The logistics in Europe is centralized in Gefco Overseas that provides efficient terrestrial transport as well as the delivery of heavy loads.
